Science
Science is taught with a mixtures of concepts and hands on activities. The science concepts covered this year range from Life Science and learning about the organs and processes of the human body, to Earth Science and studying the planets, universe, and water cycle, to Physical Science and the study of matter, atoms and electrons.
The science book uses Pearson's online component which allows for virtual science experiments and videos discussing topics. Hands on labs are done with each unit along with virtual labs. Science vocabulary is taught using pictures and concepts. Students not only learn to define the word, but relate it to other words and draw a picture to represent it.
Science homework is given (along with math homework) on Thursday of each week and it is due back the following Wednesday. Science is usually one page front and back while math is two pages front and back.
